Ingredients

2 cloves Garlic

1 tsp Tumeric

1 tsp Cumin

1 Onion

1/2 cup Lentils

1 tsp Ginger

1 tsp Salt

1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Method

- Rinse dried lentils at least 3 times - Add lentils to small pot and fill with cold water - Add onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, salt and cooking oil - Bring to boil on medium heat, then put lid on pot and allow all liquid to be absorbed - Take off heat once liquid is absorbed and allow to cool - Melt 2 tbsp butter in separate pot - Add cumin seeds, olive oil and cook until sauce turns brown - Add garlic and ginger and fry for 1min - Add cooked daal along with 1 cup water - Cook until thick on low heat for approx. 45min
